Weather Care

Care through changing conditions.

A little rain. A little sun. A little wind. A little dust. A little moisture. A little snow.

Start with four everyday checks: dry surfaces, clear ventilation, suitable use conditions, and the condition of the cover itself. Follow the instructions for your furniture, equipment, and specific cover.

  1. Start dry. Check for moisture.

Let the item and cover dry before covering. Include cushions or other items that will stay underneath, and follow their own storage guidance. A cover does not remove the need to check the condition of the surfaces it covers.

Check underneath regularly and after changing weather. If you find moisture, allow the item and cover to dry as their instructions require before covering again. Follow the specific cover's guidance for standing water.

    Prepare for rain and moisture.

  2. Keep designed ventilation clear.

If your cover has ventilation openings, keep them in the position shown in its instructions and clear of leaves, dust, or stored items. Use the fastening arrangement specified for that model so the cover sits as intended.

Ventilation features do not replace regular moisture checks. Do not assume that an opening shown on another product is present on yours or that a furniture cover is suitable for equipment.

    Plan your fall cleanup.

  3. Match use to the product's limits.

Read the stated conditions of use for the cover, the item underneath, and any cushions. Follow their guidance for sunlight, water, wind, and storage. A product photograph does not establish UV resistance, waterproofing, or suitability for every climate.

Check whether the planned exposure fits those instructions and arrange suitable storage when it does not. If a limit is unclear, ask about the exact cover before relying on it.

Prepare for sun and dust or ask a product question.

  4. Keep a simple care record.

At each check, note the date, recent weather, the cover's position, fastening condition, and any moisture or debris underneath. Note any cleaning, drying, or storage change you make so you can recheck the same points next time.

Follow the inspection guidance supplied with the product and check again after changing conditions. Before seasonal storage, review the cover and the item together. For AC equipment, confirm whether the unit must operate; a heat pump may run in winter and must not be covered while operating.

Prepare for winter or review installation and maintenance.
